Pictures without my family
The photographer gathered everyone outside the venue for the formal wedding portraits. The late afternoon sun provided perfect lighting for the celebration, but something was clearly missing.
We posed with Francis’s parents, laughing and smiling for the camera. Then came the time for photos with the bride’s family, and the photographer looked around confused.
I simply told him to skip those shots. We took photos without a single member of my biological family present to witness our union.
